  1. It’s great that Black midwives, doulas and birth workers can share information for women during Black History Month in the Birth Herstory 2013. They are so many traditions in the Black community that support nurturing, birthing, parenting and maintaining healthy families. I look forward to sharing my story on the “Spiritually of Birth, You Were Born for the Mission”. I really want to support women in embracing pregnancy as a natural act, without fear, to remember that we know our baby before she/he is born and we are connected to our baby. The baby is connected to the mother, and there is untapped spiritual power in this physiological and emotional attachment that materializes in our ability to birth on our own, by eliminating the fear of pregnancy and birth. I look forward to sharing more on the Birth Herstory 2013.

    • Shafia!! Thank you so much for commenting on my blog. Yes this is a wonderful event and I am honored to be on a panel that includes wonderful Wise Women like yourself. I look forward to hearing your call. This is so important for us to remember and is something I have been talking about as well. Even before pregnancy the spiritual journey of birth begins when we choose our pregnancy partner. So thanks for this wonderful insight.
